With this Duentric^® coating, Cartia^® remains intact until it reaches your upper intestine. By releasing the aspirin in the intestine, it helps to minimise stomach irritation caused by the aspirin.

Why is the Cartia^® Duentric^® coating so important?

Aspirin that is uncoated starts to dissolve in the stomach and may cause irritation to the stomach lining. Cartia^® has a special Duentric^® coating designed to prevent the aspirin from being broken down in the stomach. It is released lower down in the intestines, helping to protect the stomach from irritation that can be caused by aspirin.

Importantly, this coating does not reduce the effectiveness of the aspirin.

How to take Cartia^®

Do not break, crush or chew the tablet. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not double up if you happen to miss a dose.
